Privacy Policy

1. Data controller

The data controller is Adrian Arjona Clavelo (independent developer of Aethera), based in Montevideo, Uruguay. You can contact us at any time at aarjona1991@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

2.1 Account and profile data

• Google sign-in (optional): name, email address, profile photo and user ID, via Firebase Authentication.
• Wellness profile: name, date of birth (to compute biorhythm, numerology and zodiac sign) and app preferences.

2.2 Health and fitness data

Only with your explicit authorization, Aethera reads the following data through Health Connect and/or your band/watch over Bluetooth (BLE):

• Steps and distance
• Sleep (duration and stages, depending on the device)
• Heart rate and resting heart rate
• Exercise and active calories
• Blood oxygen (SpO₂), stress level and wearable battery (when the device provides them)

This data comes from Health Connect or from your wearable's apps (e.g. Mi Fitness, Google Fit or others you authorize). Aethera only reads this data; it never writes to Health Connect.

2.3 Microphone (ambient noise measurement)

2.4 Location

• Approximate or precise location: used only to retrieve the weather forecast for your area. You may deny this permission and the app will keep working.

2.5 Data generated in the app

• Mood and sleep check-ins and any notes you write.
• Settings, reminders, notifications and theme/language preferences.
• Subscription status (Aethera Plus) according to Google Play.

2.6 Technical and usage data

• Usage events and basic device information via Firebase Analytics, to understand feature usage and improve the app.
• Technical error logs to diagnose crashes.

3. How we use your data

• Personalize your daily wellness guidance (biorhythm, numerology, weather and, when available, wearable signals).
• Generate sleep recommendations and assess your rest environment.
• Show the weather for your location.
• Send the notifications and reminders you enable.
• Manage the Aethera Plus subscription and its features.
• Improve the performance, stability and experience of the app.

We do not use your health or fitness data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to build marketing profiles.

4. Artificial intelligence processing

To generate the daily guidance, Aethera sends a small set of aggregated signals (biorhythm percentages, the day's numerology number, weather data and a non-identifiable summary of wearable metrics such as sleep minutes or recent heart rate) to an AI provider (Google Gemini or Ollama) through a secure backend managed by the developer.

• Your identity, email or raw health records are not sent.
• Communications are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) and keys are not embedded in the app.
• If you do not use the AI guidance feature, none of these signals are sent.

5. Health Connect

Aethera's use of data obtained through Health Connect complies with the Health Connect permissions policy and the Google Play User Data policy, including the limited-use requirement:

• We only request the data types needed for the wellness and sleep features you use.
• Aethera only reads data from Health Connect; it does not write or modify data.
• Health data is not transferred to third parties except to provide the requested feature, and is never used for advertising or sold.
• You can revoke access at any time from Health Connect or your system settings.

6. Where your data is stored

• Firebase (Authentication and Firestore): if you sign in, your user ID and basic profile data are stored for syncing.
• Developer backend and AI/weather providers: temporarily process the aggregated signals to return guidance or the forecast; they are not used to identify you.

7. Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share the minimum necessary with the following processors, solely so the app can work:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Analytics): account, profile and usage metrics.
• Google Play Billing: subscription management. Google processes the payment; we do not store card data.
• Weather provider (through our backend): approximate coordinates for the forecast.
• AI provider (Google Gemini or Ollama, through our backend): aggregated signals for the daily guidance.

We may also disclose data where required by law. Health data is never shared for advertising purposes.

8. Retention and deletion

We keep data while you use the app or maintain your account. You can delete your data as follows:

• On-device data: delete it from the app's Settings or by uninstalling Aethera.
• Health access: revoke permissions in Health Connect or disconnect the wearable from the app.
• Account and Firebase data: email aarjona1991@gmail.com requesting account deletion and we will handle it within a reasonable timeframe.

9. Security

We apply reasonable security measures: encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), certificate pinning to our backend, API keys not embedded in the app, and data minimization. No system is 100% foolproof, but we work to protect your information.

10. Your rights

• Access, correct or delete your data.
• Withdraw your consent (revoke health, location or microphone permissions).
• Object to or restrict certain processing and request data portability.
• File a complaint with your data protection authority.

11. International transfers

Some providers (such as Google) may process data on servers located outside your country. In those cases, the relevant safeguards offered by those providers apply.

12. Children

Aethera is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA where applicable). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us so we can delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post changes at this same URL and update the "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated in the app where appropriate.
